Truchard Vineyards has farmed the cool southern edge of Napa Valley since 1974, when Tony and Jo Ann Truchard transformed a run-down parcel into one of the most diverse estates in Los Carneros. Their 400-acre property, prized for its patchwork of soils and bay-cooled climate, supplied many top wineries before the family began bottling under their own name in 1989.

This is an estate-grown Pinot Noir from Carneros, a region whose fog and cooling breezes make it one of Napa’s finest homes for the grape. The Truchards’ long experience with the site shows in a wine that balances ripe fruit with the freshness and finesse Pinot Noir needs.

The 2018 came from a long, temperate Californian growing season widely rated as an excellent Napa vintage, ideal for cool-climate reds. The result is an aromatic, nicely poised Pinot Noir that drinks well now and will hold comfortably over the near term.
