Sauvignon Blanc thrives in Constantia’s cooler pockets, where ocean breezes slow ripening and lock in aromatics. This bottling keeps things clean and unoaked, letting the fruit do the talking. Picked at just 12.5 percent alcohol, it is deliberately light on its feet, an early-drinking style built for freshness rather than weight or complexity.

2024 was an early, dry vintage at the Cape. A cold, wet winter gave way to a warm, rain-free summer that pushed one of the earliest harvests on record. Smaller berries meant concentrated, intense flavours, and cool-climate sites like Constantia held on to the crisp acidity that makes their whites sing.

Pour it well chilled and you get a rush of gooseberry, guava and cut grass, with a squeeze of lime keeping everything lively. The palate is light, crisp and dry, all green-fruit snap and clean citrus, before a brisk, refreshing finish. Lovely on its own, better still with goat’s cheese, salads or grilled white fish.

This is not a wine chasing scores or cellar space; it is here to be poured and enjoyed. Think of it as a Cape answer to a zesty Loire Sauvignon, with a touch more tropical warmth. Keep a few in the fridge through summer and you will always have something honest, fresh and reliably good to open.
