Domaine de Beaupre lies in the Coteaux d’Aix-en-Provence, in the garrigue-scented hills of southern France where pale, dry rosé is the signature and summer drinking is a way of life.
The D2 rosé is made in that classic Provençal mould, pressed pale and kept fresh and dry. In this appellation, rosé typically draws on grapes such as Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah, blended for delicacy and lift rather than weight or colour.
The 2018 vintage in Provence gave ripe, balanced fruit, and while rosé of this style is happiest in its youth, a well-kept bottle can still offer gentle, softened charm.
Expect a pale-pink glass with delicate red fruit and citrus, a light, dry palate and a clean, refreshing finish. Serve it well chilled.
It is a versatile apéritif and an easy match for salads, grilled vegetables, seafood and Mediterranean plates. For anyone who loves the pale, dry Provence style, this is an approachable example.
